Rice mills are the most important link between farmers and consumers in the rice value chain. It is important to monitor the shocks to milling as it will impact both farmers’ incomes and food security.
To explore the effects of disruptions on Myanmar’s rice sector, IFPRI-Myanmar introduced the Rice Miller Survey. The survey, which includes over 400 medium- and large-scale rice millers in Ayeyarwady, Bago, and Yangon, monitors changes in business operations, paddy and rice price changes, and byproduct sales and price changes. The Rice Miller Survey was initiated in June 2020.
